Hi. as the subject line suggests, how many of you zonersonline? I play the part of a polar bear on here, just for the fun of it, for example. anyone else role played an animal character? and while we're on that theme, anyone here ever dressed up as an animal for a party? how far did you go? did you go so far as hiring a fursuit? those can be rather expencive but very convincing so I hear.
Lets see. I've dressed up as a unicorn, a cat twice, a poodle and a dolmation. Yes fur suits can be expensive. My father dressed up as an ape once.
I've never donned a fursuit, but i might get the chance someday. tahns for your reply

Haha... I have (and still do, from time to time) roleplay as animals (as well as various other non-animal characters...)
My "default" is a big white fluffy wolf though.
I haven't dressed up entirely as one since I was eleven... but I have a few Furry friends who might help me out with a fursuit someday. I'd rather own my own then rent one, merely because I'd like it to be unique/personalised to me.
there is a journal I read by a chap calling himself mefurry on livejournal.com who works as an entertainer. He works as animal characters some of the time. I've thought of trying a fursuit to see what they're like, but at the moment, I just play a paw massage loving polar bear.

the paw massage loving bear has migrated and joined the ranks of grizzly bears, but there you go. re the fursuits, I've spoken to a professional character actor who uses fursuits on a regular bsis, and he says they are hot hot hot in side, as in not much vintilation, but once you get used to them, you are okay. he didn't say anything about them iching though, so maybe the ones he uses don't irritate.

It depends on what you have against your skin, on the inside of the suit...if you just have the feaux fur (or whatever stuff you use for the outside) right against your skin, it can be itchy... I know that a lot of people build their suits off of a base of a leatard or spandex body suit used in dancing, gymnastics, etc., because of the comfort and good fit, and the fact that you can wear just that suit so that you're not bulked up with clothes under your fursuit.
I've heard that at the conventions, there's a room for the fursuiters to just go and hang around with their hand and foot paws and heads off, with some air conditioning, for a well needed break. Haha

yes I've heard ursuiters wear either at shirts and boxer shorts or excersise wear beneath their fursuits. I think I would you know, for it protects the suit for one, for some of those can be dam pricy, and for another you need a tight fitting body suit yunderneath so you can work the character fursuit affectivly.
I don't think I've ever played animal characters online, at least, not until last night when I decided on Hedwigg for a user name. For those who dn't know Harry Potter or haven't read it before, Hedwig is his adorale snowy owl who basically goes everywhere with him, whether he's at his Aunt and Uncle's house, whether he's at his friend Ron's houe, Hogwarts School or whetrever. Very sadly though, J.K. Rowling decided to Hedwig off in the last book with the killing curse, non-verbal one as well. I was absolutely gutted when I found out, so I'm now Hedwig. A fitting tribute for such a gorgeous little character.

I've kind of roleplayed animals as bonuses and side character. I do the harry Potter thing, so when I play a character with an animal, I usually make myself them to. Also, I am always the gamemaster, so I do the naration for animals too.
as some of you know i play the role of a little lion on here, but it's a quite unusual lion, lives mostly on cake and milk, some times pizza. she listens to only one uman, and takes food only from him and occasionally also a couple others, and looks disgusted if you try to feed her meat. she's verry suspicious of humans, except for verry few of them, and whoever tries to hurt her human friends is guaranteed to have the hardest of times. :P
